Henley – Susan Lee Henley, age 74, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on October 9, 2021 at the Custead Care Center in Orange Park, Florida. Susan was born in Waycross, Georgia on January 19, 1947 to the late George W. Harper, Jr. and Ella Lee Dees Harper. As a child, Susan was raised in Georgia. She moved to Florida with her family as a teenager and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1965. She met and married the love of her life, Clarence Wayne Henley, in the late 1980’s. They resided in St. Augustine and Palm Valley for several years before making Baker County their forever home in August of 2000. Susan enjoyed tending to her family as a homemaker, loved raising horses, camping, crafting, and beach trips. Her main passion was her family so any activities that were family friendly were her favorite. She was deeply loved and will forever be missed by those who knew her. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Harper, Jr. and Ella Lee Dees Beikirch; loving husband of 32 years, Clarence Wayne Henley; and brother, Larry Harper. Susan is survived by her loving daughter, Melinda L. (Warren Barker, Jr.) Thompson of Macclenny, FL; brother, Skip Harper of Macclenny, FL; sister, Bonnie (Billy) Pringle of Jacksonville, FL; and grandchildren, Madison Belle Thompson, Bailey Austin Gold, and Billy Weeks. A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Ben Glosson officiating.
