Holbrooks – Samuel W. Holbrooks, age 68, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on January 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born on January 22, 1953 to the late Warren Lester Holbrooks and Martha Hunter Holbrooks. Samuel was raised in Tampa, but made Gainesville his permanent home 15 years ago. He enjoyed making chili, playing his guitar, and poker, especially Texas Hold’em. In Samuels free time he watched westerns, sifi, and animated films on Netflix. Samuel was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tim Holbrooks and Lonnie Holbrooks; and his sisters, Libby Sutton, Minnie McClure, and Sharon Harnage. Samuel is survived by children, Bill Holbrooks, of Gainesville, FL and Callie Walker of Inverness, FL; and his brothers, Elmer (Pricella) Holbrooks, George Holbrooks, and Tony Holbrooks. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered and Pastor Elmer Holbrooks will be officiating.
