Rose McRae McClellan, age 65, of Lawtey, Florida passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at UF Shand’s in Gainesville. She was born in Boussac, France on November 26, 1955 to the late Mack Murry McRae and Allegra Rummuel McRae. Rose and her family briefly relocated to Germany until she was six and in 1961 they moved to Starke, FL after her father’s retirement making Starke their forever home. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1973 and after high school Rose raised her babies until her youngest daughter started kindergarten. Once her children were in school Rose began a new journey, she started cosmetology school in 1983 and kindled a passion for making people feel beautiful. Rose began working in the hair industry for several years, and in 1987 opened her own salon, Illusions Hair Studio where she worked for 23 years until retiring in 2010. On December 26, 1992 Rose married the love her life Farelon McClellan and together they spent 28 beautiful years. She was the co-owner of Farelon’s logging business, Farelon and Son. Rose was full of life and never met a stranger. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, traveling, and shopping. Rose was an avid Florida Gator fan who loved cheering on the Gators in the Swamp during football season with her grandchildren. More than anything, Rose loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rose is survived by her loving husband; Farelon McClellan of Lawtey, Fl; children, Michele Smith Pittington of Moline, IL, Shannon (Kim) Smith of Starke, Josh McClellan both of Starke, FL, Heather (Steven) Smith Hardee of Lawtey, FL, and Tonya (Scott) Troehler of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Mac (Terry) McRae of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Tryphenia (Abdul) McRae Alivandi of Melburn, FL; grandchildren, Taylor (Kyle) Parrish, Brooklyn (Dustin) Elder, Hannah (Nick) Klein, Jake Pittington, Madison McClellan, Macey Hardee, Megan Pittington, Jaden Troehler, Kennedy Smith, Foster Smith, Caleb Troehler, Graceyn McClellan, Cole Troehler, Teigan Hazen; great grandkids, Daylan Klein, Ember Parrish, Hardee Parrish, Kayden Klein, Deacon McClellan; and extended siblings, Lewis Cooper, Peggy Cooper Crews, John Cooper, Becky Cooper Tilley. A Celebration of Rose’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Starke with Pastor Lewis Cooper and Pastor Tim Mulkey officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke, Florida. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
