Mrs. Patricia (Pattie) Elaine Ward, age 66, of Blairsville, GA, and formerly of Glen St. Mary, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 8, 1955 to the late Orland and Arlene (Mooneyham) Gibson. She was a graduate of Argo Community High School in Summit, IL. She attended Florida Community College in Jacksonville, FL where she received her R.N. Degree. She spent her life as a nurse, caring for others in hospitals, doctors’ offices and hospice/home health care. Her most recent position was with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, where she retired from in 2015. Mrs. Ward moved from Glen St. Mary, FL to Blairsville, GA 5 years ago with her loving husband to live out their retirement. Lovingly known as “Nanny” by her Grandchildren, she always looked forward to spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting, sewing, crafting, and gardening. She was a Master Gardener and was most happy planting and gardening. Pattie and her husband loved to travel and visited many countries including Vietnam, Germany, Ireland and Spain. She served in the church her whole life and most recently attended Blairsville Church of God. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gary and Jerry Gibson. Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, David Ward of Blairsville, GA; Children, Tarah and Todd Farber of Palm Harbor, FL, Scott and Padra Ward of Nolensville, TN and Adam and Adele Ward of Loganville, GA; Brothers, Raymond and Diane Gibson of Bollingbrook, IL, and Ron and Marilyn Gibson of Palm Harbor, FL; Sisters-In-Law Linda Gibson of Bourbonnais, IL and Carol Gibson of Justice, IL; Grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Avery, Ashtyn, Claire, Elijah and Arthur. Services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at First Assembly of God in Macclenny, FL. The viewing will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m., and the service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Joshua Potts and Rev. Russ Coffee officiating. Music will be provided by the Giddens Family. Interment will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
