Tibbetts - Nellie Mae “Honey” (Rojee) Tibbetts passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on September 19, 2020. Born on November 14, 1943 In Medway, Massachusetts she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Richard W. Tibbetts Sr., her parents, Joseph P. and Genevieve Rojee, Sr. and a brother, Joseph P. “Junie” Rojee, Jr. A longtime resident of Jacksonville Beach, “Honey,” as she was known from an early age, lived a life of service. Supporting her husband’s career in the United States Navy spanning from the 1950’s to the 1980’s, including the Vietnam War, as a Naval Ombudsman, she then began a 20+ year career as an addiction counseling specialist in the Jacksonville area. Many of her clients not only battled addiction but were afflicted with HIV/AIDS during the earliest days of the epidemic. “Miss Honey,” as she was known in the communities where she worked, gave her heart to those who needed it most. Beyond her legacy of service is a large, extended family stretching far beyond the Jacksonville area who will miss her dearly. Her children: Lisa (Tibbetts) Tallon, Jacksonville Beach; Richard W. (Teri) Tibbetts, Jr., Mansfield, TX; Robin and Mary (Tibbetts) Mott, Jacksonville; and Sean (Mariel) Tibbetts, Jacksonville. Her grandchildren: David (Karmen) Brown, Loveland, OH; Bruce and Jennifer (Tallon) Stinnett, Jr., Manassas, VA; Holli Tibbetts, Jacksonville; Paul Tibbetts, Jacksonville; Melissa Blackburn, Las Colinas, TX; Trent and Madi (Carrier) Blackburn, Arlington, TX; Scott and Mary Elizabeth (Mott) Frazier, Boulder, CO; William and Mirna (Nijem) Mott, Jacksonville; Rebecca Mott, Boulder, CO; and Laurielle Perry, Jacksonville. Her great-grandchildren: Bruce Stinnett III, Gabriel Stinnett, Amelia Spock, Lucas Frazier and Elena Mott. Her brothers and sisters, and their spouses: The Late Joseph P. “Junie” and Rosemarie Rojee; Michael “Mickey” and Nancy Rojee; the Late Frederick “Freddie” and Shirley (Rojee) Paulette; Arthur and Madeline “Sugar” (Rojee) Mill; and Robert “Bobby” Rojee and Sharon Lambirth, all of Medway, MA. The Late Norbert and Cathy (Rojee) Chenard, and James and Suzie (Rojee) Thornhill, both of Franklin, MA. Countless nieces and nephews spanning generations will also miss her loving spirit. Due to COVID-19 safety considerations, in lieu of a funeral mass, Catholic graveside services will take place at Beaches Memorial Park, Atlantic Beach, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020 where Honey will be laid to rest next to her sweetheart, Richard.
