Merrilee Caryn Rosene Beazley passed away March 1, 2022 at the age of 72, after a short battle with cancer. Merrilee was born on November 13, 1949, in West Lafayette, Indiana, to Robert Bernard Rosene and Ida Alieze (nee Trieste). She married William George Beazley on February 28, 1970, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Merrilee leaves behind three children: Andrea Caryn Macejak; William George Beazley, Jr. (Rachel Marie Nichols); and Robert Charles Beazley, all of Jersey Village, Texas, and four Grandchildren: Anna Carynna Macejak; William George Beazley, III; Olof Henrik (Henry) Beazley; and Amelia Hilda Beazley. She is survived by brothers, Robert Bernard Rosene, Jr. (Donna Sue Ratliff); Richard Henry Rosene (Kimberly Jo Hester); and Carl Mellis Rosene (Nancy Ellen Wemmerus): and by sisters, Gail Diane Smith (John Martin Smith); and Ida Alieze Compton (Norman Wayne Compton). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Merrilee led an active personal and professional life. She believed strongly in education. While raising three children, she acquired four college degrees: BS Elementary Education with Honors, MS Education Curriculum and Instruction, BS Nursing, and an MBA. Merrilee gave to her community through tutoring children, private instruction and public education about nutrition and safety. While working over 20 years in various nursing positions including hospitals, schools, and public health, Merrilee worked on behalf of several religious, charitable and political causes. In her drive to give public awareness for sexual trafficking and veterans with PTSD, Merrilee began to support Camp Hope and educate the public at large. This led to her run for public office three times: Jersey Village City Council, Texas State Representative, and Jersey Village Mayor. Although she did not win, her endeavors influenced her fellow candidates to state their true positions and defend them benefitting all voters. A born traveler and living overseas in Indonesia in early childhood, Merrilee made friends easily around the world. She traveled extensively dedicating herself to attending family reunions, accompanying then-husband Bill on business both foreign and domestic, escorting her children to foreign museums and historical sites, and missions for medical aid teaching wellness in various countries. Merrilee was more interested in the people she met during her visits and how they lived, than tourist attractions. She made life-long friends wherever she visited. Her family, relatives and friends will sorely miss her. A Graveside Celebration of Merrilee’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday March 17, 2022, at Santa Fe Cemetery in Hampton, FL with Reverend Jim DuBois officiating.
