Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cox

Cox – Mary “Elizabeth” Cox, age 86, of Starke, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Starke Fl. She was born in Dillon, South Carolina on November 27, 1934 to the late William Kelly Turbeville and Adaline Jackson Turbeville. Elizabeth was raised in Dillon, SC where she met and married the love of her life Henry “Earl” Cox. Elizabeth and Earl were married on February 19, 1955 and the very next day they relocated to Starke, FL where they made their forever home and have spent the past 66 years. In the late 1960’s, Elizabeth worked at Lake Butler Apparel where she was a sewing inspector for 10 years before retiring home for her true passion as a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family, and cooking. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her 7 siblings. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband; Henry “Earl” Cox of Starke, FL; her children, Ann (Lewis) Cooper of Warner Robins, GA and Joe (Norma) Cox of Starke, FL; her brother Leverne Turbeville of Cape May Court House, NJ; her grandchildren, Alan (Amy), Amanda (Brett), Angela (Brett), and Laura (Jeremy); her great grandchildren, Aidan, Colin, Jackson, Hayes, Cooper, Gunnar, Crosby, and Tanner. A Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lewis Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke, Florida. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
