    Mary Ann Combs

    March 30, 1942 - February 14, 2022

Mary “Ann” Combs, age 79, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on February 14, 2022, at All Saints Care Center in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on March 30, 1942, in Moultrie, GA to the late Grady Peek and Luella Dean Peek. Ann spent her childhood and early adult years in South Georgia before relocating to Jacksonville with her family. She met the love of her life, William “Arlie” Combs in Baker County while dancing away the night and on February 20, 1958, they were married. Ann and Arlie resided in Baker when they were first married and then moved to Jacksonville where they loved for 35 years. She enjoyed her long-time career at Rema’s Draperies where she was a seamstress for over 10 years. After Arlie’s retirement in 2003 him and Ann moved back to Baker County and have resided here ever since. Ann enjoyed going shopping, out to the movies, and eating out at restaurants. From the time Ann was a young girl to her later years she had a passion for dancing and anytime the music was turned on you could find her dancing around. Ann loved having fun and truly enjoyed her life. Most of all Ann adored her family and loved spending time with them. Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lynette Peek Dimsdale and Coralee Peek Branson; brothers, Charles Peek, Wayne Peek, and Paul Peek. Ann is survived by her children, William David Combs of Macclenny, FL, Michael S. Combs, Thomas (Rhonda) Combs both of Jacksonville, FL, Debora (Ashley) Combs of Macclenny, FL, and Kenneth Combs of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Sammy Peek of Jacksonville, FL and Danny Peek of SC; many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. A Graveside Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny, FL.
