Estes – Marilyn Louise Estes, age 78, of Hampton, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. She was born in Gainesville, FL on July 16, 1943 to the late Ed Geer and Eva May Duncan. On August 30, 1958 Marilyn married the love of her life Oscar Estes Sr. and together they spent 63 beautiful years. Marilyn and Oscar have been residents of Hampton their entire life together and enjoyed attending Hampton Missions Church for many years. Marilyn enjoyed her longtime career at Tacachale for 23 years where she was a caregiver to many of the residence. Anytime Marilyn was driving down the road and saw a yard sale sign she had to stop by and check it out she loved a good yard sale. She was an avid Florida Gator and NASCAR race fan and enjoyed watching them both when they were on TV. she was a bit of a thrill seeker, she loved roller coasters, a fast ride with someone on the four-wheeler or dune buggies. But she was the mom and nanny who liked the idea of a theme park or fair. More than anything, Marilyn loved her family. She was the matriarch to her family a homemaker and the glue the kept them together. She will be dearly missed by all who knew. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Estes Crawford; brother, Roy Geer; Sisters, Shirley Sorell, Lavonia Melvin, Eva Geer, And Audrey Geer. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband; Oscar Estes Sr; Children, Patricia Crawford and Oscar Raymond Estes Jr; brothers, Charles (Shelia) Edward Geer Jr. Larue (Charlie) Geer, Aubrey Geer, Lannie (Teresa) Geer; sisters, Caramaleita (David) Quigley, Tamzie Geer; grandchildren Christy Curtis, Mike Cole, Brittney Crawford, Deena Crawford, Terry Crawford, John Crawford Jr, William Estes and Ashley Estes. 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at Santa Fe Cemetery in Hampton, Florida Pastor John Hodges officiating.
