Mr. Kenneth Lee Cochran Sr.

Cochran – Dr. Kenneth Lee Cochran, Sr., “Deacon Ken”, age 82, of Sanderson, Florida passed away September 3, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born May 25, 1938 to Royce Cochran and Runette Phillips Cochran. Deacon Ken honorably served his country as a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Navy for 20 years. After retiring from service in 1976, he started a career at Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies where he worked for 15 years. Deacon Ken was a beloved member and faithful Deacon of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He volunteered in all areas of ministry such as the Baker County Jail Ministry and Raiford Prison Ministry. He loved celebrating the Easter Holiday with his family. Deacon Ken was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and has been a season ticket holder since the early 70’s. He enjoyed watching western movies, fishing, and working in his yard and took great pride in it. Deacon Ken loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby and Billy Cochran; and great granddaughter, Cali Kinsey. Deacon Ken is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Rose Cochran of Sanderson, Florida; children, Kenneth (Santa) Cochran, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; John (Robin) Cochran of Jacksonville, FL, Anna (Myron) Mathis of Elkton, FL, Teresa Kinsey of Sanderson, FL, Bryant (Andrea) Cochran of Weeki Wachee, FL; brother, Jerry (Margaret) Cochran of Manchester, GA; sister, Kay (Billy) Garrison of Warm Springs, GA; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Lovett, Jennifer (Nicholas) Poirier, Bobby Kinsey, LeeAnn Mathis, Nicole Cochran, Gwendolyn (Blake) Bergstrom, Brittany (Tyler) Hodges, Adam Cochran, Kenneth “Trip” Cochran, Colton Mathis; 9 great grandchildren, Aidan, Atticus, Novalee, Chelsea, Skyler, Havilah, Levi, Jeremiah, and Avery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Felipe J. Estévez, Father Slawomir Bielasiewicz, and Father Richard Rasch as Celebrants. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
