Johnson – Jerry Woodrow Johnson, age 74, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away December 30, 2019 at Life Care Center at Wells Crossing in Orange Park, Florida. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 7, 1945 to the late Woodrow Johnson and Sadie Ree Crews Johnson. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and graduated from Paxon Highschool in 1963. He enjoyed a 33-year career at Bellsouth before retiring in 1997. Jerry enjoyed small college football and southern gospel music. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Johnson; and daughter, Darleen Wyatt. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Nancy M. Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; children, Dyron (Casey) Johnson, and Meagan (Joseph) Gaines both of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Sammy (Yvonne) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, and Tommy Dale (Nancy) Johnson of Glen St. Mary, FL; sister, Patsy (Herbert) Rodgers, Macclenny, FL; 4 grandchildren, Dalton, Kendall, Curtis, and Alyse. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church with Pastor Ray Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
