March 27, 1932 - February 10, 2022
James “Jimmy” William Cagle, age 89, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Waleska, Georgia on March 27, 1932, to the late James Martin Cagle and Nancy Jane Teague Cagle. Jimmy was raised in Georgia where he resided the majority of his life. Following high school, in July of 1949 Jimmy joined the United States Army where he proudly served our country for a year and served on the Army Reserves for 5 years. Jimmy was blessed to find his passion of being a brick mason early in life as it was a trade passed down from his father. He enjoyed a lifelong successful career as a brick mason and enjoyed the folks he worked with and met along his work journey. Jimmy was also a longtime member and Mason of the Masonic Lodge in Blaine, Georgia. He was quite the collector and enjoyed collecting coins, guns, and pocketknives. Jimmy also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves baseball, but more than anything, Jimmy loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In 2017, Jimmy relocated to Alabama where he resided for 2 years with his granddaughter and in 2019, he moved to Jacksonville to be with his daughter and made this his forever home. Jimmy never forgot his Georgia roots and was still very connected with family and friends in the area. He was truly a gift to those who knew him and will be forever loved and missed. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marvin Cagle, Herbert Lee Cagle, and Ricky Cagle. Jimmy is survived by his loving daughter, Trena (William) Vick of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Tabetha (Josh) Motes, Susan Walters, and Courtney (Justin) Bellard; and great grandchildren, Whitaker, Charles, Elliott, Elizabeth, and Nathanial. A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held in the near future, and he will be interred at Refuge Road Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper, Georgia. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES at Beaches Memorial Park, 1500 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, FL, 32233. 904-249-1166.
