Mr. Donald "Don" Milstein

July 9, 1941 - April 7, 2022

Milstein – Donald “Don” Milstein, age 80, of Lake City, Florida passed away on April 7, 2022, at Suwannee Health Care Center in Live Oak, Florida. He was born on July 9, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Max Milstein and Freda Pascal Milstein. Don was raised in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Erasmus High School. Following graduation, Don went to Cornell University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering which assisted in his longtime career as a Chemical Engineer. He served at Mobil Oil Corporation for 37 years and retired as their Vice President of Research and Development. In the early 80’s, Don met the love of his life, Karen Leah Carapellotti. They were happily married on June 30, 1985, and have enjoyed almost 37 amazing years of marriage. Don was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who spent most of his life in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. After retirement in December of 1998, Don and Karen relocated to West Palm Beach then to Lake City in October of 2020 to be closer to family. Throughout the years, Don has enjoyed fishing and was a big Green Bay Packer football fan, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and making sweet memories. Don was preceded in death by his parents and many extended family members. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Karen Leah Milstein of Lake City, Florida; children, Natalie Ann Milstein of NJ, Janet Beth Milstein of Chicago, IL, Karen Sara Milstein of PA, Joshua Robert Milstein of Lake City, FL, Cathryn Hannah Milstein Grover of Gainesville, FL, Melissa Maia Milstein (Shawn) of Gainesville, FL; and two grandchildren, Amethyst Milstein and Soledad Milstein. Don will be laid to rest at Beth Moses Cemetery in West Babylon, New York close to his late parents.
