    Mr. Danny Lamar Mathis Sr.

    March 17, 1978 - April 24, 2021

    Mathis – Danny Lamar Mathis, Sr., age 43, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away on April 24, 2021. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 17, 1978 to Patricia Kennedy and the late George Willis Mathis, Jr. Danny was raised in Jacksonville and relocated to Baker County in 2001. He enjoyed his career as an Air Conditioning Technician and was currently working for Watson Realty in Macclenny, FL. Danny also enjoyed volunteering at the Macclenny Fire Department as a Volunteer Fireman. He was an avid Florida Gator fan who enjoyed all Gator sports. In his free time, Danny enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. More than anything, Danny will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who loved his family dearly and lived life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his father. Danny is survived by his mother, Patricia (Albert) Smith of Glen St. Mary, FL; children, Danielle Mathis and Danny Lamar Mathis, Jr. both of Glen St. Mary, FL, Emily Mathis of Bonifay, FL, Winter Pearl Mathis of Lake City, FL, Isabella Mathis of Orange Park, FL, and Reece Mathis of Pennsylvania; brothers, Scott (LaTonya) Mathis of Dinsmore, FL and Joey Mathis of Glen St. Mary, FL; and his two granddaughters, Kinsleigh Bosley and Madilyn Rose Bosley. A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services at 11:00 am with Dr. Winson Butler officiating. Interment will follow at South Prong Cemetery in Sanderson, FL. The family will receive on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
