Wood – Dallas “Little Dallas” Gray Wood, Jr., age 14, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on April 12, 2022, at Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital. He was born on July 21, 2007, in St. Augustine, Florida to his loving parents, Dallas G. Wood, Sr. and Charity Dawn Hallicy Wood. Dallas was raised in St. Augustine and Jacksonville for the majority of his life and has resided in Baker County for the past 2 years. He loved being outdoors; riding four wheelers, fishing, shooting guns, and playing football. He played football for the St. Augustine Falcons and the Jacksonville Moncrief Broncos. His favorite positions were the offensive left tackle and the defensive nose guard. He just loved being able to tackle and he had the skill set to complete that task. Dallas was so full of life and certainly lived to the fullest. He was filled with joy even in the mist of illness and health battles. He knew that God gives the toughest battles to the strongest soldiers, and he was up for the fight. Dallas had big dreams and aspirations of playing professional football one day. He was academically intelligent, was in advanced classes, and looked forward to being a Baker County Wildcat football teammate. His was an avid Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar fan who enjoyed watching all their games. Most of all, Dallas knew the importance of family and friends and loved spending time and creating memories with them. He was a true treasure and gift to so many and his sweet spirit, loving nature, and selfless personality will be greatly missed. Dallas was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Merson Hallicy. Dallas is survived by his parents, Dallas and Charity Wood, Sr. of Macclenny, FL; brother, Merson Wood of Macclenny, FL; paternal grandparents, William “Willie” Wood of Macclenny, FL and Janice Carlson of Middleburg, FL; maternal grandmother, Wanda (Barry) Rosier of Jacksonville, FL; paternal great grandmother, Angela Carlson of Orange Park, FL; uncles, Barry Rosier, Jr., Dale Rosier, Matthew Hallicy, William (Tiffany) Wood, Dalton Beverly, and Jeremy Rosier; cousin, Noah Wood; along with numerous extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Dallas’s Life will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Ferreira Funeral Services Chaffee Chapel with Mr. Barry Rosier officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday an hour prior to the service.
