Smith - Brenda Sue Smith of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away and joined her Heavenly Father on February 19,2021. She was born on August 19, 1942 in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Basil and Ruby Brown. Not too long after graduating high school Brenda began dating Richard Terry Smith. After falling in love, Terry and Brenda were married on August 18, 1962. Terry and Brenda were happily married for over 58 years. A big part of those 58 years was raising their three outstanding children: Renee, Karen, and Jennifer. Brenda and Terry were the ideal image of a happy and loving couple. They are part of the generation that ‘fixed whatever was broke” and that meant relationships as well. She loved spending time with her family, feeding birds in her backyard, throwing parties for loved ones, and she adored making any event for someone extra special. Above all, Brenda will forever be remembered by her self-less attitude and enormous heart. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband for over 58 years, Terry Smith; children, Renee (Steven) Elliott, Karen (Bubba) Brown, Jennifer (Clark) Scott; brother, Phillip Brown; sister, Patricia (Rev. James) Rigdon; grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) West, Mark Elliot, Corey Irby, Lily Irby, Austin (Cassie) Brown, Kayla Jones, Dylan Brown, Kala Scott, Garrett Scott; numerous great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Brenda’s Life be held on Wednesday February 24, 2021, at 1 PM at the Beaches Memorial Park Chapel, 1500 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, Florida, 32233.
