Ms. Billie Jean Gassett

Gassett – Billie Jean Gassett, age 91, of Lake Butler, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Starke. She was born in Alachua County, Florida on January 12, 1931, to the late William Pollock and Louise Anderson Pollock. Billie Jean was raised in Waycross, GA and Jacksonville, FL, but resided in St. Augustine and Elkton for many years before relocating to Union County and Bradford County. She enjoyed her career in hotel management at the Econo Lodge for many years, but her most favorite time was being a homemaker and raising her sweet babies. Billie Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. When not working, Billie Jean enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. She loved the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed every minute she was blessed with. Billie Jean will be missed by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through her family and friends she impacted. She was preceded in death by her parents. Billie Jean is survived by her children, John L. (Nancy) Bradley of Jasper, GA, Melanie (Mike) Waters of Middleburg, FL, Walter Pate (Carol Kline) Gassett of Keystone Heights, FL, Fawn (Wilford) Allen of Lake Butler, FL, and Camille (Greg) Whitaker of Starke, FL; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Private Celebration of Billie Jean’s Life will be held in the near future and her final resting place will be at Kingsley Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
