Griffin- Bertie Pye Griffin, age 90, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away on July 24, 2022, at St Vincent’s Community Hospice Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in Odum, Georgia on June 12, 1932, to the late Jim Pye and Lossie Anderson Pye. Bertie was raised in Jesup, GA before making Glen St. Mary her forever home in 1954. She was passionate about her longtime career at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in MacClenny, FL where she worked for 27 years until retirement. She later, was employed at Northeast Florida Telephone Co for 9 years and then decided she was ready to fully enjoy retirement. Bertie was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in MacClenny. FL, where she enjoyed serving and worshiping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved spending time outdoors working in her garden. Bertie was an avid reader and a great seamsters. most of all, Bertie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Bertie was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents. Bertie is survived by her loving children, David “Goose” (Vickie) Griffin Jr., Gary “Mumbles” (Debbie) Griffin, and Stephen “Bird” Griffin all of Glen St Mary, FL; brother Vernon Pye of Jessup, GA. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Bertie’s Life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 11:00 am at Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Eddy Sanders officiating. interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday July 26, 2022 at the funeral home from 5:00 -7:00 pm . Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
