The Release of Doves
The release of the Doves is a personal family preference. Releasing the Doves has the Spiritual significance of releasing of ones spirit. The Bible makes reference to the Dove as being the symbol of the Holy Spirit. Some may interpret the Release of the Doves as a prelude to the healing process for the family after the loss of the loved one.
The Release of Butterflies
As in the life of man, the life of a butterfly goes through changes (caterpillar to cocoon; to butterfly). In the release of butterflies, the relationship of man in the world as he grows through the metamorphosis of life illustrated through this release.
